Optical fiber prefabricated rod is the most "source" project of optical cable production, and occupies the core position. The proportion of revenue accounts for 70% of the whole industrial chain. At present, there are about 200 domestic optical cable manufacturers, most of which rely on imported optical fibers or prefabricated rods to produce optical fibers. In order to get rid of the disadvantageous situation of insufficient raw material supply and being restricted by others, Yanggu Cable Group insisted on the combination of independent research and development and equipment introduction, and invested 1.027 billion yuan in the construction of 400 tons of optical fiber prefabricated rod project in 2017.

Successful commissioning of the project has positive significance for improving the industrial chain, enhancing the effect of industrial agglomeration, promoting industrial upgrading, and realizing the conversion of new and old kinetic energy of the photoelectric industry.

In addition, the project has recently been selected into the Shandong Intelligent Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration Project Library. After the project is put into full operation and achieves its effect, the new main business income will be 1.4 billion yuan, and the profit and tax will be 140 million yuan.
